About SolderGear
SolderGear is an independent review site for soldering stations, hot-air rework systems, multimeters, and the bench tools that make electronics work repeatable. We help first-time builders, repair techs, and serious hobbyists choose tools without wading through sponsored placements or copied marketplace specs.
Editorial Lead
Reviews are edited by Logan Johnson, a hands-on electronics hobbyist who cares about repeatable bench workflow: stable heat, available consumables, safe measurement tools, and gear that does not frustrate beginners out of the hobby. The site is small on purpose, every listed product has a reason to be here.
How We Review
For soldering stations and hot-air tools, we evaluate temperature stability, heat recovery, tip or nozzle ecosystem, handle ergonomics, calibration drift, and value over time. For meters and scopes, we focus on safety rating, accuracy class, bandwidth, software friction, and how often the tool solves real debugging work at a soldering bench.
